Job Details
We have recently reviewed our approach to Whole Family Wellbeing, which is at the heart of our partnership work to improve early intervention and prevention in Fife. As a result of this review we are seeking to strengthen our use of data, to improve the effectiveness of our planning and the impact of our improvement work.
We are recruiting a Lead Performance Analyst to play a lead role in this task, through the development of a performance management framework for Whole Family Wellbeing and related aspects of children’s services in Fife.
As Lead Performance Analyst for Fife Children’s Services you will need:
- To play a lead role in data analysis and modelling to support delivery of Whole Family Wellbeing and related areas of Children’s Services planning.
- To support the development and evaluation of a Whole System Approach for Whole Family Wellbeing.
- To support a proportionate approach to improvement through the design and development of performance reporting.
- To provide data and information to meet the needs of improvement activity across Whole Family Wellbeing and related work within Fife Children’s Services Partnership.
- To provide advice on the appropriate use of data to senior leaders and partnership working groups.
The post will be line managed by the Chair of the Children’s Services Data Group (currently the QIO (Strategic Planning & Performance) in the Education Directorate, Fife Council).

Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements

- You will have significant professional experience in a statistical or similar analytical role in a large organisation, with outstanding numerical skills, and an in-depth knowledge of statistical approaches.
- You will have a relevant degree e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Analysis or other related professional qualification or have equivalent, relevant experience.
- You will be able to analyse problems and determine solutions, understanding and applying appropriate techniques to gather and analyse data, and producing information in a graphical format.
- You be an advanced user of Microsoft packages that support data analysis and visualisation (e.g. Excel, Power BI).
- You will have a practical understanding of relevant data issues, including: personal data security, data protection, and database design management.
- You will be a clear thinker who is able to simplify complex issues for target audiences, demonstrating innovative thinking and the creative application of ideas.
- You will have strong customer skills, who is able to understand and meet the needs of a range of stakeholders.
- You will have shown an ability to manage and lead small projects.
- You will be able to work under pressure and cope with uncertainty, adapting your approaches in response to changing demands and managing your own time appropriately.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
