Electronic Communications Central Team – Vice President

With the expansion of remote work arrangements and the growing use of mobile devices in all facets of our daily lives, JPMC’s Electronic Communications Central team sets guidelines to ensure that business-related electronic communications (“E-Comms”) comply with all local regulatory requirements related to supervision and records retention.  The Firmwide E-Comms Central Team is seeking a strong Vice President candidate to join our team and to contribute to managing this important Firm wide control program. 

As a Vice President within the Firmwide Control Programs team, you will have the opportunity to work with a global team of professionals that provide guidance to all Lines of Business and Functions to ensure consistent execution of the Firm’s Electronic Communications program requirements.  This role includes the maintenance of policies / procedures, setting E-Comms strategy, and ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the program, to ensure it remains best-in-class. This role offers high visibility across Control Management, as well as across all Lines of Business and Corporate Functions.  Close collaboration with Technology, Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal are critical for success.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the setting and execution of the firm wide E-Comms program strategy while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements relating to electronic communications
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on the E-Comms program to all Lines of Business and Functions across the JPM franchise.
  • Maintain and refine firmwide E-Comms related policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with all JPM Office of Documentation Governance standards. 
  • Assist with the firmwide repatriation of records related to E-Communications that have occurred on personal devices, in violation of Corporate Policy
  • Partner with application development teams to ensure E-Comms related applications meet customer needs. Partner with reporting teams to ensure E-Comms related reports and dashboards meet customer needs.
  • Partner with the Control Management, Human Resources, and Compliance teams to ensure E-Comms related learning modules are appropriate, assigned to relevant employees, and completed in a timely fashion.
  • Partner with Compliance and Legal to develop and deliver electronic communications related messages, which may be required across Lines of Business or Functions.  This includes contributing to  the annual E-Comms communications plan for the firm, which involves ensuring consistent messaging across Executive Communications, Compliance and Risk bulletins, Control Committee meetings, All hands / town hall meetings, digital signage, etc.
  • Work with Control Management Quality Assurance (QA) teams to execute the E-Comms related QA program.
  • Navigate a diverse organization with competing priorities and Influencing staff at all levels of the organization
  • Set communication priorities, including drafting executive level communications, e-mails, presentations

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Experience: 7+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, risk management, or compliance

    • Keen sense of discretion in working with sensitive, employee-specific SMS and electronic messages conducted on personal devices, in violation of the firm’s Communications policy. 
    • Proven Leadership and Influencing skills: An individual that has proven experience taking ownership of key tasks and influencing others. 
    • Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
    • Experienced dealing with Legal and Compliance, on sensitive policy and policy exception related matters
    • Experience dealing with Technology and/or Reporting teams.
    • Exceptional people skills; exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative manner as part of a global team.
