Software Engineer
Overview:
Oracle Hospitality is developing this era’s most exciting Cloud-based, Mobile-¬enabled, Next-Generation hotel management enterprise application – OPERA Cloud – to enable our customers in the hospitality industry to provide superior service and experience to their guests, anywhere. The application is using Oracle’s leading edged Fusion Middleware and Database technologies. We’re seeking a Talented Software Engineer to join our OPERA Cloud Engineering team. As a Software Engineer you will apply your expertise and energy to develop key components of the Hotel Product Suites. You will utilize your knowledge of software development to develop, debug or design software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. You will be responsible to build enhancements within an existing software and occasionally suggest improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for assigned functional areas of OPERA suits of products. Tasks include writing technical specifications, coding, unit testing, debugging, integration, performance tuning, and maintenance of assigned software modules
- Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging applications
- Acts as individual contributor as well as team member
- Usually works with some supervision, conferring with superiors on unusual or complex matters
- Assignments are broad in nature, may require learning new technologies
- Fully competent in own area of expertise
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related (Ideally in computer science or engineering)
- 2+ years of IT experience
- Proficiency in Java development and MVC patterns
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure working with Cloud, Web or Mobile technologies
- Proficiency in scripting language
- Proficiency in PL/SQL
