Embedded Software Test Engineer
If you are an experienced Embedded Software Test Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting position for you! You will lead and participate with a small team through the design and implementation of test automation software and infrastructure for world-class pressure and temperature measurement devices. Our products deliver highly accurate pressure and temperature measurements with unmatched reliability to help customers in a variety of industries. You will get to work with engineers from multiple global sites and leverage their combined knowledge to achieve the program objectives.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide project-based technical leadership, coaching, and work direction for two or more software engineers.
- Closely collaborate with firmware developers.
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from requirements definition through post-release activities.
- Present status updates and metrics to management.
- Plan test effort and develop test strategies for test automation (90%) and manual testing (10%).
- Plan, lead, and implement software test development activities which include software test architecture development, test requirements development, infrastructure development and execution.
- Carry out continuous improvement to the software test processes.
You identify and seize new opportunities. You successfully communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among divers styles and position levels. You deal constructively with problems that do not have clear solutions or outcomes. You set objectives to align with broader organizational goals. You readily learn and adopt new technologies.
- Bachelor`s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an engineering school
- Minimum 4 years of applicable experience
- Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.
- Ability to meet with and lead global team members during off hours
- Knowledge and experience with agile development methodologies
- Experience providing work direction and leadership to others
- Ability to travel < 5%
- ABET-accredited engineering degree
- Experience working in geographically distributed teams
- Firmware lead experience
- Azure DevOps or similar tool experience
- Knowledge and experience with serial communication protocols like SPI, I2C, USB, etc.
- Cybersecurity and SIS product development experience (e.g, IEC61508, IEC62443)
- Experience with object-oriented programming
