The Opportunity:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person as the Administrator of our Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics and to lead the School of Physics & Astronomy events team.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. Please note, due to business needs, there would be a requirement to work in the office most Fridays.
The team is based in the James Clerk Maxwell Building, on the leafy green King’s Buildings campus to the South of Edinburgh and close to the Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill for convenient lunch walks.

Your skills and attributes for success:
- If you enjoy a variety of tasks from event management to communications and outreach, this job is for you.
- You will provide advice and strategic input to senior colleagues.
- You will interact and communicate with people at every level of their careers from many international backgrounds, so excellent communication and ‘people’ skills are very important.
- School education of HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus relevant work experience or broad experience, acquired through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding relevant work/roles.
