The Opportunity:
To work on modelling sustainable phosphorus futures for freshwater and coastal ecosystems (within the uPcycle project) and develop a web-based global phosphorus dashboard providing understanding on emissions, drivers and impacts.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week) however we are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
The post is fixed term for 12 months.
The successful candidate will be based at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (Penicuik), where they will be part of a vibrant and motivated team.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Proficiency working with large and varied environmental datasets, including spatial datasets
- Experienced in developing complex computational models of socio-ecological systems
- Experience using R, python or other programming languages for data manipulation, data visualisation and statistics
- Some knowledge and/or willingness to learn web development in R Shiny or HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Good communication skills for academic audiences and international stakeholders, including potential for travel / workshop support
- Experience writing and publishing scientific papers
