As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Risk aligned to Corporate Technology, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams and overseeing daily implementation activities. Your role will involve identifying and escalating issues, ensuring your team`s work complies with compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices. As a highly skilled and motivated Technology Manager, you will guide our team of technologists in managing operational systems, optimizing design, exploring and implementing new design patterns, and providing solutions to complex business problems.

Job responsibilities

• Explore and implement new design patterns and technologies to enhance system architecture and performance.
• Drive the design, development, and optimization of operational systems to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS, to support the deployment and operation of applications.
• Ensure best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
• Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
• Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience using Java Kafka Spark technologies. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Apache Spark, Big Data and Kafka technologies.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud environments - AWS.
• Demonstrated ability to design and optimize complex operational systems.
• Experience with exploring and implementing new design patterns and technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead solutions to complex business problems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing technologists
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
