  • £38,223 per annum (pro rata for part time)

This is an exciting time to join and be part of shaping Special Educational needs and Disability (SEND) services across Suffolk.

We are looking to recruit a Family Services Lead Co-ordinator to join our West Suffolk Family Services Team, to lead and support the work of their locality team.

Family Services provide support, information and guidance to children and young people with SEND and their families, predominately those that require an Education Health and Care Plan.

 

Your role and responsibilities

  • ensure that children, young people, and families are at the heart of everything we do
  • use evidence to inform the development of the team and be solution orientated
  • line manage and provide casework supervision to your team who support individual children and young people and their families through their education pathway and/or SEND Journey
  • ensure that assessments and advice are of high quality and delivered within statutory timescales
  • contribute to the Local Authority’s response to supporting children and young people who have been permanently excluded and who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
  • provide challenge to education providers to ensure provision meets the needs of individual children and young people with an EHCP
  • model the Ideal Worker values, setting the expectation for the team to demonstrate an Ideal Worker
  • support the work of the Family Services Manager to ensure compliance with statutory guidance such as SEND Code of Practice
  • lead and support effective working relationships for the team with families, local education settings and multi-agency partners.

 

You will need

  • Suitable professional qualification at graduate level or equivalent experience in a relevant area of work.
