The Manager, Compensation plays a key role on our regional Human Resources team with responsibility for the design, implementation, communication, and delivery of base pay and incentive compensation programs ensuring they are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business and people strategies.
This position will be responsible for analyzing compensation data, conducting market research, and making recommendations to support the development and implementation of an effective total rewards strategy for the Americas region.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist the Americas Regional Total Rewards team in carrying out organization’s objectives to ensure compensation programs are administered effectively in accordance with the organization’s reward strategy; be a critical part of the Total Rewards team supporting 15,000 employees in our world class end-to-end Logistics business (ports and terminals, contract logistics/warehousing, freight forwarding, etc.)
- Leads key projects in the Americas region including annual salary review, bonus payout, salary structure refresh, regional salary benchmarking reviews, and salary survey participation
- Design, develop, implement, and support competitive total rewards programs, including base pay, sales incentives, short term incentives (STI) and long term incentives (LTI)
- Administer the company’s short-term bonus programs and sales incentive programs in the Americas region; audit incentive calculations for accuracy, completeness and compliance according to program documents
- Supports operations and talent acquisition by completing job evaluation and market pricing activities using salary surveys or slotting. Conducts local market analysis to support RFQ’s/new business sales effort
- Conducts job analysis activities to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness in the appropriate local markets
- Collaborates with HR Business Partners to ensure that job evaluations and job classifications represent the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job
- Partners with local HR teams across the Americas region to ensure compliance with internal compensation policies and practices and all related regulatory requirements
- Create models and financial projections illustrating the impact of compensation programs and alternatives
- Educates HR Business Partners and business leaders on compensation matters and provides training for all annual processes
- Maintains database of all job descriptions; create job descriptions as needed; ensures accuracy of employee compensation information within databases
- Keeps abreast of the latest industry trends and best practices across the Americas region
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
- Bachelor`s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. CCP certification is preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in compensation management, inclusive of 2 years` experience with Latin American compensation
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros) and Power Point
- Proficiency with compensation benchmarking tools such as Payfactors and with HRIS applications such as SuccessFactors or Oracle Fusion
- Understanding of FLSA compliance guidelines
- Working knowledge of compensation legal and regulatory requirements such as FLSA, pay equity, pay transparency
- Proficiency in Spanish language preferred
- Research and analytical skills to gather and interpret data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to support all levels of the organization; ability to interact with individuals internal and external to the organization in an effective, courteous, and productive manner; ability to act as consultant to field HR business partners and line managers
- Experience working with senior executives, delivering presentations, implementing programs, and influencing outcomes
- Problem-solving and research skills to find solutions to challenges
- Management skills to delegate tasks related to developing and revising compensation plan
- Extensive knowledge of laws related to compensation and benefits
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce error-free work
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently in the completion of assigned duties and responsibilities
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple time sensitive projects and meet deadlines
