1. JOB SUMMARY
The HSE Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of safety protocols and practices within an organization. They are responsible for creating a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, and stakeholders by identifying and mitigating potential risks and hazards.
       
       
2. KEY RESPONSIBILITY

 

  1. Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across various departments and processes to identify potential safety hazards and risks.
  2. Safety Policies: Develop, review, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  3. Training and Education: Organize and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure a thorough understanding of safety protocols.
  4. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  5. Safety Audits: Regularly audit workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
  6. Emergency Planning: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring employees are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies such as fires, natural disasters, or chemical spills.
  7. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Recommend and oversee the proper use of PPE, ensuring that employees have access to appropriate gear and understand its correct usage.
  8. Safety Communication: Promote a culture of safety through effective communication strategies, including posters, newsletters, and safety campaigns.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of relevant safety regulations and standards, and ensure the organization`s practices are aligned with legal requirements.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance safety measures.
  11. Safety Reporting: Compile and maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents, actions taken, and improvements made, to be reported to senior management.
  12. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and industry groups to stay informed about emerging safety concerns and best practices.
  13. Contractor Oversight: Ensure that contractors and vendors working on-site adhere to the organization`s safety standards and protocols.
  14. Safety Culture Promotion: Foster a positive safety culture by encouraging open communication about safety concerns and recognizing employees who actively contribute to safety initiatives.
  15. Technology Integration: Leverage technology to enhance safety practices, such as implementing digital safety inspection tools or utilizing data analytics to identify trends.
  16. Training Development: Design and develop safety training materials, resources, and presentations to support ongoing safety education efforts.
  17. First Aid and Medical Support: Coordinate first aid and medical response teams, ensuring they are adequately trained and equipped to provide timely assistance.
  18. Hazardous Materials Management: Oversee the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in compliance with relevant regulations
  19. Ensuring strict adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment): Must demonstrate a steadfast commitment to maintaining a safe and secure work environment, consistently following established HSE protocols and guidelines.

8. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential Qualification: bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or a related field.

Minimum 2 Years experience in similar profile in UAE preferred.
