TITLE: Finance Assisatant

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE:
(Manage the Financial tasks in assigned Save The Children Office in collaboration with the Head of Office and she / he will be supported technical by Finance Officer.) In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Budget Responsibilities: No financial approval
Role Dimensions: No regular contract
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
• Responsible for the cash box and safe that should be kept in a safe place and regularly control.
• The key is under her / his responsibility and the Head of Office.
• Check all expenditures with necessary supporting documents and authorization sign
• Each expense is recorded in the cash book on the date of transactions.
• Keep computer cash book up to date.
• Ensure regular clearing of advances in collaboration with Head of Office.
• Do regular cash counts with line manager and investigate prior to reporting any discrepancies to RAFC.
• Check field vouchers, their budgetary allocation and account codes are correctly recorded.
• Make sure the rules of agreement for each expense and procedures are respected.
• Prepare for Monthly financial packages and reports
• Prepare accurate cash forecast and request in cooperation with Head of Office and Logistics Assistant and timely admission to Finance Officer.
• Responsible for timely submission of monthly field account to Finance Officer.
• All expenditures must be keep as scan copy.
• Perform any other relevant duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Professional qualification in Accounting
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
Desireable
• Strong computer skills, especially ain Accounting packages sush as microsoft Excel
• Experience of working in a busy NGO environment
Skills and Experience:
• At least 1 year experience in related field (assistant level)
Education:
• Bachelor Degree, May be undertaking a professional qualification or equivalent certification
Communication and Technical Skills
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Willingness to travel to field offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements
Management:
• Good Significant people management skills/experience and proven ability to create an environment which encourages team-working and motivates a team across various geographical areas.
General:
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles.
