As the SVP Commercial Logistics for Americas Region you will be instrumental in establishing, developing, and growing our Americas logistics commercial strategy and capability with focus on enhancing brand offering and acquiring additional markets, industries, and group strategic customers, ensuring we deliver best in class end to end solution to our customers and clients. The role will be required to establish capacity in the region and countries to ensure execution of the strategy.

  • Formulate the Americas logistics commercial strategy aligned to Group Logistics Pillar Priorities - including Regional Commercial Economic Zone, Contract Logistics, Freight Forwarding
  • Identify potential opportunities into the Americas region and global Strategy. 
  • Demonstrate ability to translate the commercial strategy into hard deliverables and commercial targets at a Global, regional and country level.
  • Partner existing and new customers in strategic solutions that combine all service and product offerings of the DP World Group.
  • Driving accountability for the achievement of the sales and profit plan for the Americas region logistics operations.
  • Develop a 3-to-5-year plan supported by an annual commercial trading plan, adapting to the changing economic climate and competitor activity to deliver budget and market share expectations.
  • Formulate standard and bespoke pricing strategies for group solutions to optimize sales and profit whilst also maintaining the customer’s perception of value for money.
  • Drive efficiency, standardization & alignment across the regional logistics structure
  • Lead the DP World Logistics service and product solutions menu, leveraging cross group products, services and offerings.
  • Fulfil the role of guardian of the customer providing key account management, ownership of service levels and ongoing improvement of the customer value proposition. 
  • Set up a Key Account Management culture by implementing the right structures to deliver profitable growth on Tier 1, 2 and 3 customers.
  • Tender and Contract Management. 
  • Sales Management Excellence.

Marketing and Communication:

  • Formulate a marketing plan that executes against the brand and commercial priorities.
  • Establish a strong external communication road map to strength the DP World brand awareness and create opportunities to network with customers.
  • Define fit for purpose communication channels (off-line/ on-line) including digitalisation and innovation in marketing initiatives. 
  • Lead proactive analysis of industry and customer behavior trends.

General accountability:

  • Accountable for leading an engaged team, providing direction and promoting collaboration while ensuring they are enabled to carry out the goals and objectives of the business.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with Our Principles and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

This position must have the skill (and a proven track record) in scoping out Logistics structure.  With an in-depth knowledge of the USA and the wider Americas market. This position will need a proven track record of decision making and a strong background in financial modeling and management.

  Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or any other relevant field would be an advantage.
  • Supply chain or logistics degree
  • 10+ years’ senior level experience commercial/sales within a global multinational 
  • 5+ years’ experience leading marketing and insight capability for a global multinational 
  • Proven senior experience leading logistics and supply chain management 
  • Strong business and commercial acumen. 
  • Proven ability to intelligently operate and navigate a multinational, matrixed organisation
