We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious class teacher who will join our dedicated and friendly team in our “small, caring school which has a big vision for children’s lives” (Ofsted, July 2024)

Located in a small village just outside of Ipswich, the school is driven by a strong, nurturing ethos which supports the development of the whole child. The school has four mixed age classes, and we are keen to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher who can contribute to the delivery of a creative, engaging and challenging curriculum within our small Early Years classroom. You must have a clear understanding of the EYFS Framework and experience in this age range, including how to set up an enabling environment. We welcome applications from ECT teachers or those early on in their career, as well as those on the Main Pay Scale. We will consider part time teachers who could provide a job share as well as a full-time teacher.

We are looking for a positive practitioner who is passionate about supporting the development of children. You will be committed, enthusiastic and enjoy interaction with children, setting good examples and building confidence. You will have good inter-personal skills including the ability to use judgement and common sense and be able to work on your own, using your initiative.

You will:

  • lead by example with passion and creativity, drawing on your own expertise and that of those around you
  • be reflective in your practice and willing to learn from others as well as to model good practice across the school
  • be highly aspirational and forward thinking
  • empower children to fulfil their potential
  • enjoy the challenge of facilitating active, creative and engaging learning opportunities
  • have a secure knowledge and understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum, including assessment and phonics, and can use this to enable progress within rich learning experiences
  • support, motivate and inspire staff and communicate a clear vision and direction for our school, being committed to promoting good teamwork
  • maintain high levels of achievement for all of our children, but recognise that school is about much more than that
  • value our children in their richness and diversity
  • be committed to our school vision for all adults and children to be ‘working hard, aiming high’.

We will offer you:

  • a ‘good’ school (Ofsted, July 2024)
  • “pupils who are calm and respectful” (Ofsted, 2024)
  • children who enjoy learning
  • an ambitious vision for ongoing school improvement
  • an embedded curriculum, focusing on knowledge, skills, active learning and mental health
  • a strong school leadership team and highly trained, reflective staff who embrace innovation and share best practice
  • a welcoming, friendly and supportive staff team
  • a committed and appreciative governing body
  • rigorous processes to promote safety and wellbeing of all children and staff
  • a positive reputation within the local community
  • strong support, mentoring and career development opportunities
