Area Manager I, Centralized Dispatch

I. Job Summary
This position will manage the day-to-day operations of the Pacific Northwest & BC’s Industrial Centralized Dispatch Department and the transition to consolidated dispatch under Corporate. This position ensures operational success by establishing and maintaining performance and productivity metrics and cost management processes within the department. Reviews operational efficiencies, safety, service, and other operational problems to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and maximize efficiency. Main objective of the role is to standardize and optimize the dispatch department.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures dispatch for Roll-off/Industrial operations is following standard operating processes and dispatch center SOPs are reflective of task execution.
- Responsible for managing planning and execution of NDO (in collaboration with the Area Dispatch Manager).
- Establishes and implements guidelines, which maximize unit cost management while growing the business through reinforcing efficient driver performance.
- Manages daily planning to support Area and Districts residential, commercial, and roll off efficiency goals. Responsible for ensuring daily planning to target or exceeding target.
- Maintains communication with area leadership as needed (operations, fleet, sales, etc.), holding them accountable to supporting optimized performance.
- Develops, implements, and maintains processes, procedures, and programs to improve safety, productivity, and profitability of the sites.
- Delivers verbal and written disciplinary action to employees when necessary. Holds team accountable to standardized process and planning to target.
- Conducts performance reviews for employees using the PDS process and other appropriate performance management tools.
- Recruits, selects, hires and ensures training of dispatch managers.
- 25% travel involved.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
III. Supervisory Responsibilities
Managers of Centralized Dispatch (2) report directly to the Area Dispatch Manager.
IV. Qualifications

Experience: Five (5) years of relevant work experience in the waste, environmental services, energy, or transportation industry and two (2) years of supervisory or management experience (in addition to education requirement).
Education: Bachelor`s Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.

The salary range for this position is $120K-$175K annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.
