  • £38,223 - £44,305 per annum (pro rata if part time)
  • 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available 
  • Fixed term or Secondment for 12 months (project)

Your role and responsibilities 

This is a key insight and intelligence role which enables often complex data to be transformed into real intelligence for use in improving the life outcomes of young people in Suffolk. You will have relevant skills and experience to: 

  • create SQL queries to extract data from our Data Warehouse environments, or modify existing queries to ensure reports are kept up to date
  • design user friendly Power BI dashboards as required to ensure the business has access to all relevant information required to function efficiently
  • create efficient Tables and Views based on SQL queries to enable Power BI reports/dashboards to perform as efficiently as possible for the end user
  • support Business Intelligence Managers with reports and data, required for statutory and non-statutory requests.

 

If your application is successful, you will be key in supporting the delivery of a self-service approach towards performance management

 

You will need

  • significant quantifiable knowledge of SQL with a focus on query building for reporting
  • experience in working with large complex data warehouses
  • data visualisation experience with Power BI or a similar package where skills may be transferrable 
  • experience in working with youth justice or other statistical and qualitative information in terms of both locally and nationally produced data
  • advanced use of Excel
  • knowledge of statistical and analytical methods
  • significant problem-solving skills and will have the ability to research and resolve issues that you will face when building reports and writing queries
  • experience with Crystal Reports is desirable.

The team 

The CYP Intelligence hub team are a group of intelligence analysts, data specialists and system trainers who work centrally within children services, across the areas of education, early help, 0-19 services, social care and youth justice. 

The role of the team is twofold; to develop understanding of data and intelligence across the business through effective oversight of local reporting, and to create the tools and technologies that assist in developing an effective evidence-led approach to service delivery for the people of Suffolk.
