The Teaching Office in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC) is looking for a Learning & Teaching Administrator to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time role.

The Teaching Office acts as the main source of administrative and operational teaching support in LLC. We have recently completed a restructuring process that will ensure we are able to keep meeting the needs and expectations of both staff and students. As part of this, we are looking for a new member of staff to join our office during this period of change. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy variety in their work and can remain calm under pressure, and who additionally may want to progress in a career providing administrative support in Higher Education (HE) institutions.

The successful candidate will be proactive and efficient member of the team working to facilitate the efficient and smooth delivery of the taught curriculum, and as part of that role will administrate programmes and courses as allocated by the Line Manager. This will involve the management of both student and course information, as well as acting as a first point of support for students and staff with teaching-related queries.

We welcome applications for this post from all qualified candidates and particularly welcome applications from members of minority ethnic groups, who are currently under-represented in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures.

Informal queries can be directed to [email protected]

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 2/3, ONC or equivalent) plus relevant work experience OR School education to Standard Grade or equivalent plus relevant work experience.
  • Previous administrative experience, preferably in a Higher Education environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, etc).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Organisation and time management skills to plan and organise activities and events.
