The Opportunity
Save the Children and its partners in Bangladesh aim to be known nationally for our rich and innovative partnerships, supporting evidence-based, quality programs, as well as high standards within accountability and governance. The Technical Specialist - Partnerships is one of key position working together with stakeholders and partners across the country program to support the successful implementation of the Partnership principle and workflow movement. The Partnerships Manager, under the supervision of the Head of Partnerships, will work within the wider Save the Children Bangladesh (SC) team to support mapping, relationship building and engagement with local and national partners, ensuring trusted, effective and equitable partnership are supporting the mission of SC, effective mutual capacity development towards long-term organizational development objectives. S/he will be responsible for building SC team’s capacity and skills on partnership approach. S/he will work closely with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Extended Senior Management Team (ESTM) at both Country Office level and Field Office level, as well as at the Regional Office Level. S/he will also liaise with stakeholders at the national and regional levels such as relevant sector coordinators, thinks tanks, research institutions, private sector and industry associations and other multi-sectoral forums. S/he will be responsible for supporting project/programme leads in managing SC’s relationships with partners, in coordination with relevant finance, support systems and programme staff of SC. With the SMT and Head of Partnerships, s/he will lead the development and implementation of SC Country programme Partnership & Localizations Strategy and play a key role in the internal change process and capacity strengthening as SC in Bangladesh moves towards more equitable partnerships and increased localization.
Qualifications and Experience
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with a national and/or international NGO, UN agency or other multi-lateral or bilateral agency in Bangladesh, with at least 2 years’ experience in partnership-based programming.
• Excellent strategic vision, with strong ability to be innovative, creative and proactive to see different scenarios and contingencies required to improve partners’ capacity to deliver desired results and changes for children.
• Excellent training/facilitation, negotiation, conflict handling, presentation, networking and communication skills.
• Knowledge about core elements of approach to work in partnerships.
• Experience with supporting organizational capacity strengthening processes
• Extensive knowledge of and credibility with local and national NGO partners.
• Commitment to comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child safeguarding, code of conduct, health and safety, protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal English
• Computer proficiency in MS Office
• Master’s Degree preferably in Social Science, particularly in International Development, Development Studies, Anthropology, Sociology or related field.
