TITLE: CHIEF OF GROWTH OFFICER

LOCATION: Jakarta, Indonesia

ROLE PURPOSE:

Design and implement strategic revenue model for Save the Children Indonesia (SC IDN) towards a diversified NGO, with focus to achieve revenue growth for SC IDN to be able to deliver more impacts for Indonesian children. This role will be responsible to develop and implement revenue growth strategy with total target of 30 million USD portfolio per year by 2030, as well as build organizational capabilities towards financial sustainability, through diversified revenue streams.

Major focus in short term is to increase unrestricted portfolio through various revenue streams (mainly Individual Giving focus on major gift/High-Net Worth Individual), explore innovative financing scheme, and strengthen SC IDN business unit to ensure financial sustainability of SC IDN. In the medium to long-term, this role will also supervise the Resources Mobilization team to oversee funding opportunities from institutional, corporate, and other individual giving channels. 

KEY AREA OF ACCOUNTABILITY 

Strategic Development of SC IDN Revenue Model

  • In collaboration with Program Impact Creation (PIC) department, lead the strategic development of SC IDN revenue model as part of its pathway towards the diversified NGO, with target of minimum 30 million USD income per year by 2030, with 40% of unrestricted portfolio
  • In collaboration with Chief PIC, co-lead the development of annual workplan and budget for Resources Mobilization and SC IDN business unit, align with the Country Strategic Plan and institutional priorities 
  • Develop and implement risk management related to the strategic revenue model planning and implementation, including but not limited to compliance to governance, laws and regulations; in collaboration with Legal & Corporate Manager of SC IDN 
  • Develop metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the social and financial impact of individual giving, for-profit ventures, and SC IDN business unit. Manage and ensure performance team meet the desirable level
  • Provide high level review and oversee of regular reporting required by SC IDN related to SC IDN business unit, such as portfolio/pipeline progress reports for financial or budgeting purpose, etc. 
  • Develop strategy and engagement plan (both for internal and external) to get strategic investments and manage unforeseen risk for the organization in investment budget allocation by implementing a solid risk management plan.

Team Management and Development 

  • Manage and develop the business development team, to be align with each unit’s pathway towards the medium to long-term journey of SC IDN transformation 
  • Manage annual development and review of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as well as discuss and facilitate required professional development plan for each team members to grow align with SC IDN required competencies

Grow Unrestricted Income for SCIDN 

  • Engages directly with major donors and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) to cultivate relationships, secure significant contributions, and ensure to build a sustainable pipeline of unrestricted income.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust system for managing major gifts, including donor relationship management (CRM), donor recognition, and stewardship programs from major donors and HNWI.
  • Drives the development and implementation of a robust internal ecosystem within SC IDN, including governance, systems, and ways of working, to effectively manage major gifts and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and ensure alignment with the organization`s overall fundraising strategy.
  • Leads the development, execution, and evaluation of strategy to increase unrestricted income portfolio through diversified revenue streams, including Individual Giving (IG) with focus on major gift and potential innovative finance for SC IDN
  • Provide strategic directions and advise to the Komunitas Pahlawan Anak (KPA) as the community platform and ecosystem for individual donors to deliver positive impacts for children
  • Recommend and lead the coordination to build internal enabling conditions at SC IDN in increasing and managing unrestricted income, cross-department collaboration in implementing the strategy to increase unrestricted income, etcetera

Build Financial Sustainability 

With the Chief PIC and CFO, develop strategy and roadmap for organizational financial sustainability in the long-term, including but not limited to increasing reserves funds and continuous unrestricted income to cover core operational cost.

Strengthen Business Plan for SCIDN Business Unit to be independent for profit 

Review and strengthen the SC IDN business plan for its pathway to be an independent business unit of SC IDN in the medium-term with potential diversified services.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Essential

  1. Master`s degree in business administration, finance, or social science with minimum of 20+ years of experience in a leadership role in fundraising and business development, preferably in social enterprise or non-profit sector
  2. Proven experience in business development, marketing/advertising/communications, or a related field with solid understanding about non-profit management and enabling conditions towards financial sustainability in non-profit 
  3. Experience in developing business plan and roadmap for a small-scale business unit, with successful new investments generated for business development through high-level network engagement 
  4. Excellent strategic and analytical mindset, strong financial literacy, and ability to present business model and plan to the Board Member, High-Net Worth Individual (HNWI), and other high-level strategic network for supports and investments
  5. Proven track record in engagement with major donors/HNWI, with demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals and major donors
  6. Track record of successfully securing major gifts and cultivating donor loyalty
  7. Experience in developing and implementing donor relationship management systems and knowledge of best practices in donor recognition and stewardships
  8. Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team responsible for donor relations
  9. Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills, and fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia 
  10. Demonstrated leaderships quality in managing large-scale team members and support professional development for the team
  11. Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s vision, values and principles, including rights-based approaches in Indonesia
