Main responsibilities: 

• Carry out all Vessel Driver (Machinist) tasks, if necessary 
• Safely operate all launches, transport pilots and other personnel to and from vessels when necessary. Ensure that adequate distance is provided when embarking/disembarking personnel from ships. 
• Deal with “man in the water” procedures by immediately plotting on GPS and informing the port control actor using VHF
• Have effective and clear communication in English with the maritime pilot who is embarking/disembarking and/or the vessel`s masters. Have good knowledge of maritime terminology. • Have excellent knowledge of the channel layout for safe navigation within port operations 
• Have basic engineering knowledge of all marine vessels • Supervision of any maintenance work on vessels or docks, when necessary 
• Be on board ready and provide support on any vessel at sea or on land during emergency situations and fires, in order to maintain safety procedures 
• Provide assistance as and when necessary.

Qualifications and experience: 

• Minimum secondary education 
• Have Local Traffic Arrais Charter certification or higher 
• STCW course certificate (Firefighting Course, Basic First Aid and Survival at Sea Course, PSSR) is Advantageous 
• 1 year of experience in the position or similar functions 
• Have excellent knowledge of the channel layout for safe navigation within port operations 
• Have basic engineering knowledge of all marine vessels 
• Excellent physical and mental health condition 
• Have initiative and discipline.
