MEAL Database Assistant

ROLE PURPOSE: 
The MEAL Database Assistant ensures accurate data management, including data entry, validation, and reporting, to support program monitoring and evaluation. This role contributes to informed decision-making and accountability by maintaining databases and assisting with data analysis for the MEAL team

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

  •  Register data into relevant data collection forms as needed.
  •  Enter, check, clean, analyze, and manage data in databases as requested.
  •  Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  •  Generate reports and dashboards.
  •  Conduct phone-based interviews as part of needs assessments or other data collection efforts as needed.
  •  Support the MEAL team with additional tasks as needed, including support for assessments, evaluations, and monitoring visits

QUALIFICATION:

  •  University degree in a relevant field such as statistics, math, data analysis, computer science, psychology, political science, economics, international development, or a related discipline. 
  •  Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian, Russian and English (at least B1 level). 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential

  •  Minimum of 1 year of experience operating hotlines, providing customer support, or working with large databases.
  •  1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably within NGOs or humanitarian organizations.
  •  Demonstrated experience in data collection, with the ability to manage and analyze large data sets efficiently.
  •  Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret and work with complex data.
  •  Solid understanding of database design and management.
  •  Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  •  Strong ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
