CAHSS / School of Social & Political Science.

Fixed Term Contract - Temporary.

Part Time - 21 Hours Per Week.

The Opportunity:

You will administer resources and manage financial assurance, in adherence to the awarding body requirements and University rules and regulations for the Wellcome Trust Discovery Award Project ‘After the Single Use’.  You will work closely with the project team, and liaise closely with the School’s Research Programme Manager and colleagues in the Research Office, as well as international partners.

This post is fixed term from November 2024 until no later than 31 August 2029.

This post is part time for 21 hours per week.  We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote (within the UK) and regular on-campus working. 

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus, typically, 3 years’ relevant work experience; OR broad experience (typically, 5 years), acquired through a combination of job-related training and considerable experience, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding relevant work/roles. 
  • Previous experience of supporting and developing research or other grants at post-award stage
  • Experience of budget management of complex projects.
  • A commitment to accuracy and high attention to detail (particularly in maintaining financial-related data). 
  • Ability to quickly master new systems and processes and to sustain a high and consistent level of performance whilst under pressure and/or at team critical points.
