UE07: £40,247.00 - £47,874.00 Per Annum, Pro Rata.

Open Ended Contract - Permanent.
Full Time - 35 Hours Per Week (Part Time Considered).
We are looking for a Research Facilitator to promote best research practices, arrange access to digital research services, and associated training materials and events. The Research Facilitator will provide support and consultancy to researchers from the College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine in the creation of digital research plans throughout the research life-cycle from pre-award to publication and preservation.
This is a permanent role, based in the central campus, and available either as full-time or part-time with a minimum of 0.5 FTE.
What the job involves:
- Design and delivery of the uni-wide Digital Research Services Outreach and Skills Development programme
- Support digital research planning and efficient use of services at College level
- Maintain and enhance the digital research service catalogue
- Work in partnership with researchers, staff supporting research and service providers at the University of Edinburgh

A bit about you:
- Research experience in medical, health, and biological sciences or relevant subject and understanding of the research life-cycle in an academic environment
- Confident user of a variety of digital services to deliver research outcomes
- Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to convey complex ideas to a range of audiences
- Analytical, technical problem-solving, time management and organisational skills
A typical ‘day in the life’ of a Research Facilitator
- Attending the weekly Research Services team meeting to discuss shared priorities and hear updates from the rest of the team
- Catch up meetings with other members of the Research Facilitation team and service providers for the design and delivery of the uni-wide Digital Research Services Outreach programme
- Plan and facilitate outreach and training events, on campus or virtually, with the assistance of the Events and Outreach Coordinator to support digital research skills development
- Develop training materials and case studies to promote best research practices across the research lifecycle
- Liaising with researchers, and research support staff from the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine to facilitate access and efficient use of digital research resources, services and tools and maintain an updated record of contacts and topics discussed
- Analyse engagement data at College/Deanery/Centre level to identify digital research resources and topics of interest and in need of improvement.
