R&D- Scientist
This R&D Scientist role supports Sherwin-Williams’ external innovation and technology scouting efforts in our Global Innovation Scouting Team (GIST). GIST is responsible for delivering new, impactful innovations that address the technical needs of Sherwin-Williams by looking outside typical vendor channels such as startups, universities, and companies selling into adjacent industries. The R&D Scientist will seek to understand internal partner’s needs, scout for external innovations to address those needs, nurture the transfer of those new innovations into Sherwin-Williams, and periodically execute laboratory work to demonstrate feasibility of those new innovations for Sherwin-Williams. Frequent and direct interaction with cross-divisional marketing and product development teams, as well as external scouting partners, is required to ensure the successful identification, assessment, and transfer of technologies.
