CHILD SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3: the post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the vetting process staff.
ROLE PURPOSE: The Sponsorship Operations Manager will be overall accountable for the planning, implementation and reporting; specifically responsible for the delivery of all sponsorship operations.
The role will be the key point of contact for Global Sponsorship on Operations (Sponsor Servicing and Marketing and Retention) related matters.
The post holder will liaise with and support as necessary the Senior Sponsorship Program Manager who is overall accountable for the design and delivery of the Sponsorship program components and who will be in regular contact with the Global Sponsorship technical teams.
The Sponsorship Operations Manager will be supervised by the Senior Program Manager and work closely with PIU team, Safeguarding Lead and others in the Country Office Senior Management Team to meet all sponsorship-related objectives in the country office.
He/she ensures that sponsorship resources are focused on reaching strategic objectives, and adhering to all internal and external policies, standards and procedures.
The Sponsorship Operations Manager will also be responsible for the community empowerment and deeper child participation.
The Sponsorship Operations Manager also supports the Sponsorship operations teams in the impact area, ensuring effective administrative systems are in place and that processes and planning are closely coordinated and delivered.

Direct Reports: Program Information System and Technical Support Coordinator
Financial Approval: Authorize expenditure up to10,000 USD
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Coordination and Representation
• Act as the main liaison with the Global Sponsorship on Operations (Sponsor Servicing, Marketing and Retention) related matters.
• Manage the co-ordination and coherence of the sponsorship work across the various departments (marketing deliverables in communications, administration and IT in Support Services, and PIU team – ALL in close communication and collaboration with the field team under the leadership of the Head of Area Office, Kayin).
• Work with Global Sponsorship Operations (GSO) to ensure that Myanmar CO is aligning with the Sponsorship policy and procedure, other deliverables and requirements.
• Participate in sponsorship meetings and webinar led by Global Sponsorship, including other staff as necessary/beneficial.
• Participate in all budget planning related to Sponsorship and monitor Sponsorship financial metrics and operation team budget.
Planning and Reporting:
• Sponsorship Annual Plan (SAP): Lead in Annual Sponsorship Operations activities planning and forecast budget through a SAP and together with Senior Program Manager.
• Sponsorship Annual Report (SAR): Lead in Reporting on Sponsorship Operations activities results and best practices, challenges and Child Information Management data through SAR
• Monthly Management Report (MMR): Lead in Reporting Monthly Management report
• Take responsibility for the management (including compilation and dissemination) of the team work plan
Delivery and Quality of Sponsorship operations and Sponsor Servicing:
• Manage the eligibility check of the enrolled children and submit the completion report as planned.
• Ensure seamless digitization process of the Sponsorship Operations related documents with the support of Sponsorship Operations Team and IT team within timeframe.
• Design the Sponsorship Operations workshop with the community and children to be informative, inclusive and safe and implement as planned in cooperation with the program team.
• Ensure the quality content package submission in cooperation with the field team and Program Information Unit.
• Ensure that systems are in place to monitor child eligibility and participation in sponsorship-funded programs. Make regular supervision and support visits to the field teams, liaising closely with the Head of Area Office and Area Program Manager.
Community Empowerment:
• Manage and cooperate with program team to ensure alignment of community engagement activities with overall program goals and organizational priorities.
• Identify innovative approaches to foster community participation and empowerment through program planning.
• Supervise and mentor the community mobilization team by brainstorming to perform for high level of community participation.
• Conduct review meetings to review progress, share challenges and strategize solutions.
• Organize training/capacity building sessions for team members to enhance their skills in community engagement.
• Coordinate with the Program Manager to oversee the planning and execution of community mobilization activities across all programs.
• Coordinate with MEAL team for using monitoring checklist and regular monitoring by program teams.
• Analyze feedback and monitoring data to inform decision-making and improve strategies.
Child Empowerment
• Ensure alignment with global child participation frameworks, organizational goals, and child safeguarding standards.
• Identify innovative tools and methods to enhance children’s participation in decision-making and program design in coordination with the child participation experts.
• Design and facilitate participatory activities, workshops, and platforms where children can express their ideas and contribute to program decisions.
• Collaborate with program teams to identify opportunities for meaningful child participation.
• Provide ongoing mentoring and technical support to ensure effective implementation of child participation initiatives.
• Collaborate with the MEAL team to monitor by using the child participation checklist and quality benchmark for understanding and measuring the impact of child participation initiatives.
• Monitor activities to ensure they are safe, inclusive, and meaningful for all children, including marginalized groups.
• Ensure all child participation activities comply with child protection and safeguarding policies.
Child Safeguarding Responsibilities:
• Complying Sponsorship Policies and Procedures and ensuring CSG in Sponsorship Operations and Program Activities
• Work with CSG focal for risk assessment to mitigate the potential risks for sponsorship operations and program related matters.
• All other duties and assignments as required by Senior Program Manager and SMT.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Person specifications
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency in both written and verbal English is essential.
• Results focused and ability to develop and drive innovative programmatic and operational solutions
• Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
• Bachelor’s degree, and preferably post-graduate university degree, ideally in a subject related to management or Social Work, Psychology, Human rights Law, International Relations, Development Studies or similar, or equivalent field experience.
• At least five years management experience of development programs
Essential
• Experience of sponsorship programming and sponsorship operations highly desirable
• Proven experience in effective programme and project planning and management, monitoring and evaluation and report writing
• Experience of managing, developing and supporting teams, and the ability to lead, motivate and build the capacity of teams
• Experience in training and capacity building on community empowerment and deeper child participation
• Excellent computer skills including word processing, presentation and management information systems.
• A flexible and initiative-taking attitude with the ability to manage a sometimes-unpredictable workload
Desirable
• Willingness and ability to travel field frequently (monthly)
• Understanding of technological knowledge
• Knowledge of Save the Children’s key sectors
