The Fleet Manager is responsible for the operations and long-term maintenance management of the P&O Maritime Logistics fleet of vessels in Papua New Guinea. The responsibility is specifically, to deliver cost effective, timely and high-quality services to meet the contractual requirements of the Company.  The position will also liaise with the regional/ divisional/ corporate purchasing function and be accountable for the leadership and development of all operational, technical and crewing aspects including safety and pollution prevention management of fleet of allocated vessels.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Unlimited Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency with substantial experience in shore-based fleet management
• ISM Auditor accreditation (ISM/ISO/ISPS Auditor preferred

Minimum Experience: 

• Experience for at least 3 -5 years in the management of small bulk carriers and oil tankers or equivalent fleet, including areas of technical, human resources, industrial, budget development and control, operations, and compliance
• Demonstrated knowledge of Quality and Safety Management systems, particularly those related to the shipping industry (ISM).
• Demonstrated experience in developing and managing planned maintenance systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
